Stephen fromLB is still around? And dating the little Hayden girl?

TORONTO — Most people would probably cringe at the thought of having their high-school relationships chronicled on a reality TV show, but Laguna Beach star Stephen Colletti says he doesn’t regret the experience at all. "Having to deal with constant reminders of stuff that happened in high school, it’s like, I’ve learned to deal with it really easily and so I think that’s helped me grow up," the 20-year-old star of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County said Friday in an interview. "I think it’s helped me to learn to be a lot more mature and . . . be more smart about my actions." Colletti, who was born in Orange County, Calif., was one of a group of eight teenagers who allowed camera crews to follow them around the wealthy beachside community of Laguna Beach two years ago as part of an MTV reality series that was intended to rival the popular, fictional Southern California show The O.C. Colletti stuck it out for Seasons 1 and 2, allowing millions of viewers to see him partying, surfing, studying radio and TV briefly at San Francisco State University and living out a love triangle with Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad, also known as L.C. There’s been much debate about just how "real" the show is, since many of the scenes appear staged or rehearsed and cameras just happen to be at the right place at the right time. But Colletti insisted it is "unscripted," saying producers simply select topics of interest to participants before filming. "We just kind of knew what they were looking for and we’d stay on track with that," Colletti said at MTV Canada’s new home, the Masonic Temple. "The (camera crews) weren’t with us 24-7. It was all suggested and guided — not scripted." Colletti said he wasn’t affected by the cameras, even when he was canoodling with his love interests, and has some advice for cast members of Season 3. "Just don’t try and be anybody you aren’t," said Colletti, who was one of Teen People’s Top Ten Most Beautiful Guy Stars of 2005. Acting is something Colletti hopes to do professionally though, and he confirms that he is studying drama in Los Angeles and has some potential roles on the horizon but won’t give specifics. He also says he’s also moved on from former flames Conrad and Cavallari — who has been linked in the tabloids to Jessica Simpson’s former husband, Nick Lachey. "The answer is no," Colletti said with a laugh when asked if there is any chance of him rekindling either relationship. Season 2 is currently airing on MTV Canada. Colletti says he won’t be back for Season 3. [CH] Pics from Laguna Hookup
