One day I will run a trashy tabloid. Until then, this will have to suffice.

Kate drops cocaine libel suit

Supermodel Kate Moss ended the libel suit she filed against Britain's Channel Five just hours before a London trial date was due to be set. Moss, 32, filed the suit after the station aired a documentary claiming she had collapsed into a cocaine-induced coma back in 2001, the Mirror reported. Naomi Campbell's personal assistant said she witnessed Moss snorting the drug in a Madrid hotel bathroom and later helped revive Moss after the model had become comatose. The TV station was granted permission by the court last month to use as evidence pictures published in the Mirror of Moss using cocaine in a London recording studio, the newspaper said. The Mirror said Moss decided to call off her suit Thursday because she would have had to sign a statement denying she was snorting cocaine in the Mirror pictures. [UPI]

She didn't have a leg to stand on, it would seem.

and if she's back with Pete Doherty, she's pretty much finished and i won't be surprised if she's dead within the next 18 months.

    shame. *shrug*

Kate Moss has reportedly described the Daily Mirror's expose of her drug-taking as a godsend.
The supermodel confided in old friend Sir Richard Branson during a stay at his Caribbean island of Necker.
The Virgin boss told the Mirror: "The story coming out could have saved her from a much worse situation.
"I talked to her about it. She said it was the best thing that could have happened to her.
"When it broke in the press it was almost a release for her."
He added: "She realised she had a problem which had to be addressed. It was an awakening."

Perhaps she will make old bones after all?
