American Idol without Paula? For shame!

New reports suggest that American Idol judge Paula Abdul came pretty close to losing her position on the hit TV show. According to Us Weekly, the shows producers were considering sacking Abdul for her increasingly erratic behaviour on set. A source said: "Paula was being very difficult. “(She was) crying all the time and arriving late for meetings." "(They) liked Jessica (Simpson) a lot. And some were pushing for Britney (Spears)." The source goes on the say that Abdul was treated for "exhaustion and dehydration" after she sought out medical attention. The story has of course been rubbished by Abdul’s reps who say: "Paula is always a joy on the set and everyone loves her. "If they were looking at Britney or Jessica, that's news to me."
