Kate's going to talk to the police

Supermodel Kate Moss’s lawyers are arranging for her to be interviewed by police investigating allegations of cocaine use, it was announced today. The 31-year-old was engulfed in a furore when footage apparently showed her using the Class A drug in a west London recording studio last year. She was with ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty, troubled frontman of rock group Babyshambles, who yesterday pleaded guilty to four drugs charges after a separate incident. The announcement of arrangements for the mother-of-one to be questioned by Metropolitan police officers was made by her London model agency, Storm, following discussions between lawyers and the police over the last fortnight. A spokesman for the model said: “Kate has made it absolutely clear all along that she will co-operate with any police investigation when the necessary arrangements can be made.” The spokesman declined to say where the meeting would take place, or when, but said details were being worked out between her lawyers and police. Since the allegations surfaced in September last year, the supermodel has been out of the country. Earlier today, it was reported that frustrated officers had apparently warned her she faces arrest on her return to Britain, having had no response to an offer for her to surrender voluntarily for interview. But a spokesman for Scotland Yard said tonight: “We are in touch with the representatives of the individual, but not confirming any arrangements.” [Iol]
