No Latin VMAs this year

MTV will not resked its fourth Video Music Awards Latin America, canceled in mid-October due to Hurricane Wilma. MTV said Wednesday that after an "exhaustive analysis" it had decided that the logistic complexity of the show made it impossible to remount the kudofest with only six weeks left before the end of 2005. Winners will be announced in a special broadcast in December. The planned broadcast from Playa del Carmen, Mexico, would have marked the show's first move from Miami Beach. MTV said Mexico was the perfect venue for the show and that it would host other events in the area, including the 2006 VMA Latin America kudos. [Variety]
