Keanu, Tom scared to play author?

Author Bret Easton Ellis gave the world the sauve serial killer, Patrick Bateman in his novel 'American Psycho'. Christain Bale chilled movie audiences with his portrayal of the character in the film adaptation of the novel. Now, the author's novel, "Lunar Park", is all set to be made into a movie. The only hitch is that many of Hollywood's big name stars such as Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise have turned down the chance to play the writer. And Ellis is wondering what's scaring them off. The author says that he though Reeves loved his novel, "Lunar Park", he turned down the role. The same was the case with actors Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp. "I actually mention Keanu Reeves in the book and really wanted him to play me. He said he'd loved the book, but refused. It was the same with Tom Cruise, and Johnny Depp also said no but only because he has already played a writer," Femalefirst quoted the actor, as saying. He added that he was'nt sure what was scaring them away. And added that he was also willing to stay away from the movie set. "I don't know what they're all scared of - I won't be turning up on set," he said.(ANI)
