Jess cancels party plans for Nick

Actress Jessica Simpson, wanting to prove how much she loves her husband, singer Nick Lachey, decided to throw him a big birthday party. Simpson, who's married with Lachey since 2002, wanted to celebrate his 32nd birthday with a huge party, to "show Nick how much she loves him and wants to make things work between them." But, according to Life & Style magazine, Nick wasn't impressed at all by Jessica's attempt to show his love, telling her "Do what you want, but leave me out of it." Upset, Simpson cancelled the party and celebrated the birthday in Lachey home town of Cincinnati. The next day, they took dinner with some friends. One of them declared: "While the dinner wasn't a total disaster, [a] friend of Jess's says the couple continue to grow apart." [Spotlighting News]
