One day I will run a trashy tabloid. Until then, this will have to suffice.

Briefly....

-- In other capitalism-gone-wild news, the New York Daily News reports Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana is challenging the ego-endowed Donald's planned 64-story Trump International Hotel and Tower in Vegas with a Sin City building of her own. Seems Ivana is partnering up with Australian developer Victor Altomare to build The Ivana, a 73-story condo tower billed as ``the tallest residential building Las Vegas will ever see.'' Ivana's rep wouldn't comment to the News. -- The diamond-encrusted Miss Universe crown, well really a tiara, passed from one Anglo-speaking country to another as Russian-born Miss Canada, Natalie Glebova, triumphed at a poignant pageant beamed from the Thai capital of Bangkok. She succeeds last year's winner, Australian Jennifer Hawkins. Glebova, 23, a motivational speaker — and motivated contestant — beat out 81 other worthy hotties with sapless personalities, including runner-up Miss Puerto Rico, Cynthia Olavarria. ``This is all happening too fast and it's unreal. It's slowly starting to sink in,'' said Glebova, who has said her most unusual talent ``is being able to read upside-down just as well as rightside-up.'' -- MSNBC.com's The Scoop reports that ``American Idol'' winner and vegetarian Carrie Underwood is the leading vote-getter in an online poll by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (www.peta.org) to find the world's sexiest vegetarian. She's ahead of the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. We send happy thoughts to Carrie and the male veggie leader, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who's pitted against Christian Bale and Morrissey. Winners will be announced next month. -- Meanwhile, seems you all want a piece of Bo Bice so badly that ``Idol'' runner-up's single, ``Inside Your Heaven,'' which doesn't come out until June 21, is numero uno on barnesandnoble.com's best-sellers list, thanks entirely to pre-orders. -- Cyndi Lauper, the `80s singing star who has staged a successful comeback, and her hubby, actor David Thornton, are suing the owner of a posh Big Apple apartment building, alleging they should only be paying $508 a month for their rent-stabilized pad, not the $3,250 they're being charged. Owners 390 West End Associates counter the celeb couple is subletting the apartment from a third party, a Shlomo Baron, who's not using the place as his primary residence, which means he doesn't qualify for the rent-stabilized price and himself pays $2,400 a month. A June 7 court date has been set. -- Will we get to see newlyweds Kenny Chesney and Renee Zellweger share passionate kisses on TV? The C&W star, who was named entertainer of the year at the Country Music Awards last month, has signed to do a Thanksgiving special, ``Kenny Chesney: Somewhere in the Sun,'' set to air Nov. 23 on ABC. Chock-full of guest stars, it'll have concert footage and a glimpse at K.C.'s behind-the-scenes life, including time spent at his Caribbean pad. [Philly.com]
