Dog the Bounty Hunter loses a daughter, gets married

A daughter of reality TV star Duane "Dog" Chapman was killed in a car accident late Friday, a day before her father's wedding, a spokesman said. Barbara Katy Chapman, 23, died near her home of Fairbanks, Alaska, said Michael Feeney, senior vice president of A&E television network. Duane Chapman's Saturday wedding on the Big Island went forward as planned after the family consulted with a preacher and agreed to celebrate her life at the ceremony, Feeney said. The star of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" married his longtime sidekick, Beth Smith, after being together for 16 years. The wedding is scheduled to be featured in an Aug. 14 episode of the show about Chapman and his tattooed crew of fugitive finders. Barbara Chapman had not been expected to attend the wedding, and the circumstances of the accident were unclear, Feeney said. She was one of 12 of the bounty hunter's children. She is survived by her mother, Lyssa Greene, and her 4-year-old son, Travis Drake-Lee Chapman. [Forbes]

Why not go on with it? It says right there that the chose to celebrate her life as part of the ceremony and I think that's beautiful. Life goes on, and if you're familer with this family, the decision wasn't taken lightly. He loves his kids madly and so I know it wasn't taken lightly to go on with the wedding. Jackie Onassis chose to not cancel John Jr's birthday party that was scheduled the week of John Sr's death/funeral. Life goes on, and I think most who HAVE gone on probably would agree.

I totally agree. If you have seen his show you know he loves his children dearly. I'm sure that this took a lot of thought. But I'm glad they went through with it. It's not forgetting his daughter, I'm sure he took a moment during the ceremony to recognize her.

Is she the one they called Baby Lyssa on the show or am I referring her to another child of the Dog.
