Despite remastered Dvd sales of the 1980s movie hitting over 100,000 copies in the US last month (OCT05), Swayze insists his vocal contribution to the soundtrack proved more profitable. He says, "I sort of missed out from a financial point of view on that movie. "But my song She's Like The Wind, which I wrote and sang, has gone up and down the charts a few times. Goodbye, Big Apple: Donald Trump's next season of The Apprentice will shift its New York-based boardroom to Hollywood. NBC announced Tuesday that, despite a slippage in the ratings for the reality show (and the one-shot disappointment of Martha Stewart's spinoff this season), Trump will be back for a sixth season, with 16 contestants competing in Southern California. "We think that viewers will agree that a California backdrop, with Donald's West Coast business interests and relationships, will provide an exciting new flavor for the series next season," NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly said in a statement. The current fourth installment of The Apprentice will wrap up Dec. 15 with a two-hour finale live from Manhattan's Lincoln Center. Meanwhile, Apprentice 5 is already set to debut midseason early next year. Trump's Apprentice currently averages about 10 million viewers a week, down 4 million from last season, though it is still one of NBC's highest-rated shows among young adults, the group most prized by advertisers. Wrestler Ric "The Nature Boy" Flair surrendered this morning to North Carolina cops on misdemeanor charges that he throttled a fellow motorist during a road rage incident last week on Interstate 485. The 56-year-old Flair (real name: Richard Fliehr) was booked this morning at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, where the below mug shot was snapped. Flair, who allegedly grabbed a Charlotte man by the throat and kicked (and dented) the guy's Toyota during the November 23 confrontation, posted $1000 bond and was released. According to an arrest warrant, after roughing up Robert Steele, Flair told him that he "had his tag number and should knock the shit out of him." Hustle and Flow stars want their money

According to the Los Angeles Times, the film’s director Craig Brewer, co-producer Stephanie Allain and actors Terrence Howard, Anthony Anderson and DJ Qualls say they are still waiting for their promised cut of the $9 million John Singleton pocketed from Paramount-MTV for distribution rights. Singleton, on the other hand, is heated over being perceived as the bad guy. The production’s backstory has been told many times. When Hollywood rejected the “H&F” script at every turn, Singleton reached into his own pocket to complete much of the $3.5 million-budgeted film. At Sundance in January, a bidding war for the property jumped off with Paramount-MTV winning distribution rights for $9 million. The studio also gave Singleton an additional $7 million to develop two more films. According to the Times, Anderson, Allain, Howard, Anderson and Qualls had all worked for close to scale in return for a piece of the profits, but have yet to see a penny of their promised money. Paramount told the Times that Singleton began getting multimillion-dollar chunks of payment in the spring and had received 99% of the $9 million fee around the time of the film's July premiere. TMZ has learned exclusively that before Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson got married, he not only asked his future bride to sign a prenup, he actually had the papers drawn up, but Jessica refused to sign. When the couple married in October 2002, Nick was financially better off than his better half. The former 98 Degrees boy bander was concerned enough about his financial security to take legal measures to protect himself. During their marriage, the financial tables turned drastically when Jessica rocketed past Nick in earning power. Her endorsements, along with appearances and other revenues, earned Jessica $35 million in 2004 alone. Under California law, since the couple did not sign a prenup, earnings during the marriage are divided 50/50. If the couple doesn't settle out of court, Nick would be entitled to tens of millions of Jessica's earnings during their three years of wedlock. Beverly Cleary was the JK Rowling of my youth. She had that kind of influence over kid readers that only the mistress of boy wizards compares to. Unfortunately, Cleary never got Rowling’s fame, riches, or sweet movie deal. At least until now. According to Variety, Fox 2000 has just closed a deal with Cleary and Harper Collins Children’s Books to develop a movie based on one of her classic characters, Ramona Quimby. Ramona is perhaps the most famous of Cleary’s characters, having starred in such popular kids books as “Beezus and Ramona”or ‘Ramona the Pest”. Of course when I was a kid, those Ramona books were mostly for girls. I think they may have had cooties. Beverly Cleary is nearly 90 now, her first book, “Henry Huggins” was published back in 1950. If there’s any hope of making a film with her involvement, then now is the time to do it. In addition to the adventures of Ramona and Henry Huggins, she’s also responsible for other classic kids books like “The Mouse and the Motorcycle” and “Henry and Ribsy”. [Monsters and Critics]

American Idol will not be without the famous scowl of judge Simon Cowell in its upcoming season after all. The Hollywood Reporter quoted a Cowell rep as saying: Season five is going on as planned. Talks with Fox TV to keep Cowell slamming superstar wannabes are continuing, the rep said. Furthermore, word came Monday of a settlement in the copyright infringement lawsuit Idol creator Simon Fuller filed against Cowell over his British TV hit X-Factor. Fuller had accused Cowell of ripping off elements of Idol for X-Factor and was suing him for $171 million in London. Terms of the settlement were not revealed, but the Daily Mirror quoted Cowell as saying both Simons were delighted with the end result. People think we hate each other but we don't, Cowell said. Mel Gibson isn't cleaning up after himself

Actor/director Mel Gibson is leaving the sets from Apocalypto in Veracruz, Mexico, when he's done filming. Gibson will donate six replicas of Mayan pyramids and several movie-set villages, the BBC reported Friday. Gibson began shooting Nov. 14 and says filming should be complete in late March or early April. Apocalypto takes place 3,000 years ago in Central America and all the dialogue is in an obscure Mayan dialect. Gibson has said the film will tell the life of a Mayan man, touching on civilizations and what undermines them. (UPI)

Mathew Knowles and his Music World Entertainment Empire are holding open auditions to fill the one remaining slot in his all-male R&B group Mason Road, who has already inked a recording deal with Music World for worldwide distribution. Auditions will take place Saturday, December 3, 2005, starting at 8:00 a.m. at 1505 Hadley Street, Houston, TX 77002. The first 300 eligible candidates(a) lined up at the Hadley Street campus will be assigned an audition number and a :30 performance slot for a panel of judges handpicked by Knowles and including MWE General Manager, Johnna L. SHANGHAI, China (AP) — Tom Cruise kept a low profile while shooting scenes for ``Mission: Impossible III,'' eluding the hordes of reporters staking out his hotel. ``Hide-and-seek with brother Tom,'' said a headline in the Shanghai Morning Post above pictures of Cruise's white van pulling away from the Four Seasons hotel where the star is staying. Cruise wasn't shown in any of the pictures. Cruise arrived in the city early Monday aboard a private jet, Shanghai media reported. He was reportedly spotted strolling near his hotel Monday evening, but has otherwise stayed clear of the media and fans. He was expected to stay in Shanghai for up to 10 days, newspapers said. Cruise's management couldn't be reached for comment, and Yvonne Mu, a public relations officer with the Four Seasons, declined to give details about his stay. The 43-year-old actor is starring and co-producing the third installment in the ``Mission: Impossible'' series, which also has filmed scenes in Rome and at an 18th-century palace north of Naples, Italy. LONDON (AP) — Kate Moss is the subject of four paintings by Stella Vine now on show at a London exhibit, including one based on a tabloid photo that allegedly shows her preparing a line of cocaine. A portrait titled, ``Must Be the Season of the Witch,'' is based on a photo of the 31-year-old supermodel that was published in a London tabloid in September. Vine said Friday she usually bases her work on press photos. Moss entered The Meadows rehab clinic outside Phoenix after the photo was published. She left the clinic in late October and has resumed her modeling career. Two of Vine's other paintings of Moss are also portraits. One shows a wide-eyed Moss holding a champagne glass. Another, titled ``Holy Water Cannot Help You Now,'' shows her holding a cigarette in her hand as paint drips from her face. The fourth shows Moss waving from a window in the Priory clinic where she was treated for alcohol and drug problems in 1998. LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Actor Pat Morita, whose portrayal of the wise and dry-witted Mr. Miyagi in "The Karate Kid" earned him an Oscar nomination, has died. He was 73. Morita died Thursday at his home in Las Vegas of natural causes, said his wife of 12 years, Evelyn. She said in a statement that her husband, who first rose to fame with a role on "Happy Days," had "dedicated his entire life to acting and comedy."

Caitlin Boyle, 19, died Wednesday at 7:40 p.m. Boyle had been in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Boyle, a junior educational psychology major, was on the Dean's list last spring and was a member of the Marist Dance Team, and an animal activist group called Southpaw. She graduated from St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington in 2003. Brother Vincent Adams, director of campus ministry at St. Anthony's High School, said Caitlin "was the kind of girl who literally lit up the room when she walked in." Nick Lachey's presence at a bachelor's party last year may cost him wife Jessica Simpson, with a porn star who performed at the night, trying to sell the naughty night's indepth story to tabloids. The marriage, which is aleady on rocks, may end soon if Jessica Jaymes goes public about her raunchy sex acts with two female friends (an Asian and a blonde) in front of Lachey and his friends. The sexual performance included "whipped cream and sex toys", Star magazine had reported last year. At one point, Lachey got on the bed with the girls and seemed in a trance. But, a male friend of Jaymes intervened and pulled Jaymes away from the bed. PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) - Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has received a Cambodian passport after being made a citizen of the impoverished Southeast Asian country, an associate said Tuesday. The Hollywood star can use it when she visits the native land of her adopted son, Maddox, said Stephan Bognar, executive director of the Maddox Jolie project in Cambodia. The project, managed by San Francisco-based WildAid, promotes wildlife conservation and community development in a former Khmer Rouge guerrilla stronghold in northwestern Cambodia. Bognar said the actress was "ecstatic and thrilled" last month when he handed her the passport and an official copy of a royal decree giving her Cambodian citizenship. "Maddox was there and she showed him" the passport, he said. "It gives her a closer link, a stronger bond" with her adopted son's native country. she said. Jolie has donated $1.5 million for the project in the past three years. The project trains villagers in sustainable economic activities in the hope that they will conserve natural resources. It also aims to provide supplemental income for government rangers to protect wildlife and forests in the former war zone, Bognar said. The actress adopted Maddox three years ago, and has recently adopted an orphaned baby girl from Ethiopia. Angelina Jolie sparked health fears after coming close to passing out in an airport lounge. The beautiful star was striding through Los Angeles International Airport to catch her flight when she faltered and had to sit down. Fellow passengers said the screen beauty - who is romancing Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt - insisted on recovering from her dizzy spell by relaxing in a chair for several minutes before walking towards the departure gate. The singer said that the supermodel had been urging him to seek help,and added that Kate was the only reason he would ever voluntarily seek rehab. "She wants me to go into this place in Arizona straight after her and do it. Maybe she just wants me to go through it because she's been through it. It's the only time I'll have f***ing voluntarily gone into rehab," the Mirror quoted him, as saying. Moss, who completed a month of drug rehab at the clinic recently, has so far not been in contact with the singer, after she was urged by family and friends to stop seeing him. And, a friend of Doherty says that the singer realises that unless he cleans up his act, the two would never be together. "Pete hates rehab, but he thinks he'll never get to be with Kate without going through it. He's realised that unless he take serious steps to sorting out his problems Kate simply cannot be seen around with him," he said. Another friend of the singer said that voluntarily seeking rehab was a big step for a long-term addict as Doherty. Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom has quit drinking tea because the caffeine content in his favourite brew wreaks havoc on his bad back on movie sets. The actor, who famously smashed his spine in a fall before his movie career took off, was left in agony during night shoots on new movie Elizabethtown in rural Kentucky, and he realised it was all because of the tea he drank. "I was drinking green tea, which has caffeine. Not an awful lot. Just enough to get me through the shoot," he was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying. "By the end of the night, my back was killing me. Mandy Moore gets new romantic comedy

Billy Crudup, Mandy Moore, Harvey Keitel, Mia Farrow and Bob Balaban will star in Plum Pictures' romantic comedy "Dedication," on which thesp Justin Theroux will make his directorial debut. Lensing is scheduled for early next year in Manhattan. Theroux developed the script with scribe David Bromberg. Plot concerns a misogynistic children's book writer (Crudup) who is forced to collaborate with a young female illustrator (Moore) when his writing partner and only friend (Keitel) dies. Farrow will play the domineering mother of Moore's character, Balaban the book's publisher. [Variety]

The cold war between television titans Oprah Winfrey and David Letterman has thawed to the point where Winfrey has accepted Letterman's invitation to appear on the ``Late Show'' on Dec. 1. Letterman made the announcement during a taping of his show on Monday. Winfrey's appearance will coincide with opening night of the Broadway musical ``The Color Purple,'' which she is producing. ``What a big night that is going to be — not only for us, not only for Oprah, but for Broadway,'' Letterman said. ``You have the big `Color Purple' Broadway opening, and then right across the street here in this theater, you have Oprah appearing here. I mean, that's what Broadway is all about — it's a street of dreams.'' It's Winfrey's first visit to ``Late Show,'' although she was twice Letterman's guest on his NBC show before the late-night comic moved to CBS in 1993. The origin of their ``feud'' was murky, although Letterman has frequently joked about her through the years. Letterman's failed 1995 stint as Academy Awards host is best remembered for his awkward ``Oprah, Uma. Uma, Oprah'' introduction. Eva Longoria poked fun at the infamous Desperate Housewives Vanity Fair cover shoot spat on America's Saturday Night Live on Saturday (19NOV05) by playing a scene-stealing Teri Hatcher. Longoria recalled the photo shoot, which turned disastrous when Hatcher allegedly started sobbing when her castmates insisted she wasn't positioned to look like the star of the show. And while SNL regular Rachel Dratch played Longoria, the lovely Latina played Hatcher, who was always vying to stand in the centre of the group shot. The hilarious skit also poked fun at fellow Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan's manly qualities - she was played by comedian Seth Meyers and refused to sit in the front of the shot for fear of revealing her "package." The spoof shoot turned chaotic when a publicist revealed that Longoria couldn't sit next to Felicity Huffman because Huffman was allergic to the Latina's perfume and Hatcher couldn't stand next to Marcia Cross because the actress feared her head looked too small compared to Cross'. Longoria's debut as an Snl host was a big hit - she also played a mohican-haired dance music star, called Ms Drama Martinez, Helga Englehart, the leader of a German oompah band, a character in R Kelly's In The Closet video and she recreated beloved TV star Lucille Ball for a Thanksgiving Day special spoof. She also starred in a mock TV ad for a diarrhoea medicine, which helped cure her of the "brown drizzlies," admitting, "It's hard to be glamorous when you're about to launch a butt submarine." Catherine Zeta Jones reportedly demanded she be flown to a recent awards bash by private jet - so she could enjoy a cigarette while flying. But the luxury flight was less to do with her not wanting to fly with members of the public but because of her nicotine cravings. The couple arrived in Napa Valley on Wednesday to kick off wedding festivities. On Thursday, a welcome reception was held at a private and elegant Tuscan-style farmhouse in the middle of Napa. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a weekend itinerary and gift baskets that the bride had especially prepared for them, reports OK! magazine. At the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, guests filled a Japanese-inspired teahouse inside the Auberge Du Soleil resort, complete with sushi chefs and geisha girls flowin in from Los Angeles, according to OK!. The Saturday evening wedding was held in a private vineyard, lent to the couple by family friends. A 14-piece orchestra provided the background music for the ceremony. U.S. recording star Usher says he not only wants to be a great singer and dancer, but a successful film actor, as well. Starting Nov. 23, the 26-year-old performer will be seen playing a DJ with dreams of owning his own record company in the big-screen romantic comedy, In the Mix. Although Usher has appeared in the ensemble films The Faculty and She's All That, and the TV show Moesha, this marks the first time he has carried a major feature as an actor. Confessing he would love to some day be compared to triple threats like Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Sammy Davis Jr., Usher said he decided to do this movie because it would allow him to stretch his acting muscles. I wanted to be associated with (something) that would embody all the elements of entertainment, he told United Press International in New York recently. Former Everybody Loves Raymond mom Patricia Heaton says she was delighted to take on a romantic role in the new TNT movie, The Engagement Ring. Executive produced by Heaton and her real-life husband, David Hunt, the film is about two generations of California wine-makers caught up in the drama of family feuds and lost loves. I loved the script, the 47-year-old actress told UPI in a recent phone interview. That was one of my big things: It had to be super-super romantic. ... The first reason I wanted to do it was because it was set in Napa, she explained. Then we started working on the script and it had such a wonderful 'Moonstruck' quality to it and I don't see a lot of that on television. It's sort of this comic opera. It has really high-running emotions. It's really funny and multi-generational and so I was really excited about all of those elements. Ashton Kutcher is knocking on heaven's door with "For Pete's Sake," a reincarnation laffer set up at NBC via his 20th Century Fox TV-based Katalyst shingleshingle. Former "That '70s Show" scribe Eric Gililland is set to write and exec produce the pilot. Kutcher will exec produce with Katalyst partners Jason Goldberg and Karey Burke. After winning a bidding war with Fox, Peacock has attached a substantial penalty to its script commitment for the multicamera laffer, which is not designed to be a starring vehicle for Kutcher. "It's a workplace comedy revolving around five people who continually die and fail to get into heaven, thus sending them back to Earth for another go," Goldberg explained in an interview with Daily Variety. "The message is, when you're down here, you're here to learn a lesson. And if you don't get it right, they keep sending you back until hopefully you do." Tentative title refers to St. Peter, who will greet the five main characters each time they're sent back upstairs. Quintet will be reincarnated every couple of episodes but will have no memory of their past lives -- save, perhaps, for a sense of deja vu. And while their workplace settings will change, the core essence of the characters -- and their relationships with each other -- will remain constant. "Ashton, as he has proven on some of his unscripted shows, has a really fun, commercial instinct," NBC development chief Ghen Maynard said in an interview Friday. "He and Eric came up with a concept I haven't heard before. It allows us to go in a lot of different directions." David Bowie to play inventor Tesla

David Bowie will join the Christopher Nolan-directed "The Prestige," the Touchstone Pictures/Warner Bros. drama that stars Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine. Bowie cameo'd in "Zoolander"but hasn't starred in a film since he played Andy Warhol in "Basquiat" in 1996. Here he'll play inventor and electrical wizard Nikola Tesla, who is approached by one of two competing magicians for help in pulling off the ultimate magic trick in 1878. Bowie became friendly with Nolan when he provided the tune "Something in the Air" for the close of Nolan's breakthrough film, "Memento." Bowie was impressed enough by the script and Nolan's talent to take part. "The Prestige," adapted from Christopher Priest's novel by Jonathan Nolan, will shoot in January. Nolan is producing with Emma Thomas and Aaron Ryder. Kristen Burr is overseeing the pic for Disney, which has domestic distribution rights on the film. WB is taking overseas territories. [Variety]

Jessica Simpson is in talks to star as the desired damsel in "Employee of the Month," which Gregory Coolidge is directing for Lions GateLions Gate Films. She would join Dane Cook, who also stars. Shooting is slated to begin in the spring. Simpson would play the newly hired cashier at a discount superstore whose affections are sought by the store's two dorky clerks. Their desire for her attention gets wrapped up in their brutal competition for the "employee of the month" title. Rush Hour 3 on the fast track

After years of intricate negotiation New Line has finally gotten "Rush Hour 3" on the fast track. Studio has at long last signed Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan, director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson to return for the sequel. Tucker will earn $20 million against 20% of gross, and his deal comes with a second-picture commitment for the same salary on a film to be determined later. Thesp has given up script approval as long as the final draft matches what Nathanson pitched. Chan will get around $15 million against 15% of gross, but he will also own the film's distribution rights in China and Hong Kong. Ratner will get a spike on the upfront part of the $5 million-against-5% gross deal he had on "Rush Hour 2." Nathanson, who scripted the last film, will be paid seven figures to write the third installment. New Line has the option to greenlight the pic by May, based on script approval and a budget the studio hopes won't exceed $120 million, which seems low by summer tentpole standards -- especially given the generous above-the-line expenditure. That greenlight would trigger pay-or-play deals for the helmer and the two stars.

The only hitch is that many of Hollywood's big name stars such as Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise have turned down the chance to play the writer. And Ellis is wondering what's scaring them off. The author says that he though Reeves loved his novel, "Lunar Park", he turned down the role. The same was the case with actors Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp. "I actually mention Keanu Reeves in the book and really wanted him to play me. He said he'd loved the book, but refused. It was the same with Tom Cruise, and Johnny Depp also said no but only because he has already played a writer," Femalefirst quoted the actor, as saying. He added that he was'nt sure what was scaring them away. And added that he was also willing to stay away from the movie set. Cinderella Man is back

Universal has re-released Russell Crowe's summer boxing flick Cinderella Man in an effort to create an Oscar buzz, it was reported Sunday. Shortly after the film was released in June, producer Brian Grazer was quoted in the New York Times saying: I don't think the season of summer is compatible with a movie of this type, Daily Variety noted. Studio execs apparently agreed, and now Ron Howard's film is back on screens in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto, Variety said. Universal Marketing President Adam Fogelson said there is nothing unusual about the move, pointing out the studio did the same with Erin Brockovich and Seabiscuit, both of which went on to receive best picture nominations. Cinderella Man will be released on DVD Dec. 6, Variety said. (UPI)

A recent poll published reported that a vast majority of Britney Spears fans would love to see the pop tart and new mom dump her hubby Kevin Federline. The poll showed that Federline was very unpopular with Brit fans. The reason may be in the method of the polling. According to a Slate report Star used a method of polling famous in politics called push polling. That is a method of polling where the interviewer basically steers the respondent by pushing that person towards a desired result. It's usually done by gently smearing one of the parties in the poll question. It's famous in political races. The item states: All the tabloids report that there's trouble between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, but Star goes one better, advocating divorce for the couple in a stridently punctuated cover line: "Britney—DIVORCE KEVIN NOW!" The tab's survey of "more than 5,400 people" (no mention is made of methodology) is basically a push poll. One question has the following preamble: "Kevin has reportedly been spotted partying with his pals and flirting with another woman in a nightclub, rather than spending more time with his wife." The nuptials took place at sunset under a mountainside tent at the Staglin Family Vineyards in Rutherford, Calif. The singer walked down the aisle in a Christian Lacroix gown; her bridesmaids wore dresses by Stevie Wonder's wife, designer Kai Milla. Bride and groom exchanged wedding bands by London-based jeweler Stephen Webster, who also created Aguilera's five-carat, diamond-and-platinum engagement ring. The wedding festivities began Thursday and included a lavish Friday-night rehearsal dinner at the Auberge du Soleil resort. Aguilera and Bratman had asked guests to make donations to Hurricane Katrina and Rita relief efforts. Bratman, 28, and Aguilera, 24, became engaged on Feb. 11, while on vacation in Carmel, Calif. As PEOPLE reported, Bratman proposed in a hotel room filled with rose petals, red and pink balloons and gift boxes, each containing a present and a self-penned poem. Award-winning film actress Nikki Reed of Thirteen will make her small screen debut on Fox TV's the The O.C. Reed, 17, will join the group of Newport Beach, Calif., teens for four episodes this season, the New York Daily News reported Saturday. Reed won an Independent Spirit Award in 2004 for her starring role in Thirteen, which she also co-wrote with director Catherine Hardwicke. Courtney Love's made so much progress in her rehab stint that a Los Angeles judge relaxed the terms of her sentence a little bit on Friday (November 18). The singer is now allowed to do her time in an outpatient program instead of a residential treatment facility. Love was sent away for a six-month sentence in September as punishment for having violated her probation when a drug-related incident sent her to the hospital in July (see "Courtney Love Ordered Back To Rehab For Six Months"). Judge Rand Rubin told Love at the time that he had been planning to send her to jail but decided that treatment would be a better option. Even though Love's sentence is relaxed, she still faces certain restrictions. She's allowed to be at home but can only leave for limited, court-approved reasons, such as going to work, continuing her counseling sessions (three AA meetings a week), completing the terms of her community service and attending matters regarding her daughter's school. She was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and so far has completed just over half that (56 hours). Love also has a curfew — she's not allowed to be out past 10 p.m. And she's to continue to submit to random drug tests. Love's spent her time in rehab writing new music that she's calling "The Rehab Demos." According to an interview she gave to U.K. newspaper The Guardian, Love's written eight new songs using a Martin acoustic guitar that producer Linda Perry gave her six weeks ago. Song titles include "The Depths of My Despair," "My Bedroom Walls," "Sad But True" and "How Dirty Girls Get Clean." [MTV]

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria was forced to behave like a diva during a recent shopping trip when her car was towed away. The actress popped out to pick up socks during a break from filming last week but failed to beat Los Angeles' strict parking enforcement laws. When she returned to where she'd illegally parked, her car had disappeared and Longoria was forced to call Desperate Housewives bosses and ask them to order her a cab. The red-faced star was left further embarrassed when she got in the wrong cab. She recalls, "I was standing there with this New York woman who was also waiting for a taxi and I thought, 'She's gonna steal my cab.' "So, when the car pulled up I dashed to it and got in. Pop star Britney Spears is reportedly in talks to make her Broadway debut in the revival of Sweet Charity. A source told TV's The Insider the producers are so anxious to sign Spears to the role of Charity, they have offered to hire her husband, dancer Kevin Federline, as well. The producers really want Britney and will do anything to make this happen, the source said. The Insider said the Spears camp has refused to comment. (UPI)

Actor Jason Lewis, best known as Sex and the City's Smith Jerrod, says someone pretended to be him to set up teen actress Lindsay Lohan. I think Jason Lewis is a creep, the actor said of his namesake to Friday's New York Daily News. The imposter called Lohan's New York hotel a couple of weeks ago claiming to be Jason Lewis the actor, and started a flirtatious text-message correspondence with the 19-year-old Lohan, the newspaper said. It's mean, the Hollywood Lewis said. The guy was trying to move up on her and set her up. Lohan invited her text buddy to join her at a New York club last Friday and upon discovering he was not who he said he was, had him bounced from the establishment, the Daily News said. (UPI)

Christina Aguilera and her record executive fiance Jordan Bratman are to wed in Napa Valley, northern California, on Saturday after a lavish two-day party. The pop superstar and her beau have booked out the exclusive Staglin Family Winery estate for the nuptials and plan to make the event a lavish celebration. Aguilera will reportedly wear a gown designed for her by French fashion king Christian Lacroix and she will arrive at the ceremony in a white Rolls Royce Phantom. The couple will stage the rehearsal dinner today, Nov. 18th, at the Auberge Du Soleil resort, where they are staying as they prepare for their big day. Brittany Murphy has been dropped by her manager and agents amid reports she had sex with a waiter while high on drugs. The stunning actress is alleged to have bedded the hunky waiter at a movie industry bar mitzvah party while "smacked out" at the exclusive bash, according to a cryptic report made by columnist Ted Casablancas on US website E!online. On the site, Casablancas writes of a mystery actress, referred to as 'Jordache Junky' - a reference to Murphy's recent appearance in a Jordache jeans commercial. Manager Joanne Collonna and agents, Brillstein-Grey and ICM, have now cut all ties with Murphy but have so far refused to cite any reason for the split. But the primate pet - named Baby Luv - is illegal in Paris' hometown of Los Angeles and the authorities are demanding she return it. A spokesman for the California Department for Fish and Game explained: "We'll send them a letter to let them know we're aware they have a restricted species." David and Victoria Beckham have rushed son Romeo to hospital after he fell prey to a bronchial complaint. Romeo was taken to a private clinic in Madrid after developing a high fever. Doctors diagnosed him with bronchitis and kept him in overnight, although he is now back at the family home. The toddler has not been well in recent months, having suffered from a range of complaints including a fit and convulsions. The stress of having a sick child seems to have taken its toll on his parents, with hellomagazine.com reporting that David had taken Victoria away for a weekend and "pampered [her] rotten" to try and help.
