Jogger found dead on Big Bird's lawn

A body was found on the property of Carroll Spinney who plays Big Bird on Sesame Street, and the actor's caretaker has been charged with kidnapping. Social worker Judith Nilan was reported missing Monday and police Tuesday found her body in a shed at Spinney's Woodstock, Conn., home. Officials reportedly plan to press murder charges against Spinney's caretaker, Scott Deojay, but because the shed straddles the Massachusetts-Connecticut border jurisdiction still had to be worked out, E! Online said. Deojay has reportedly told investigators he hit the woman with his car while she was jogging, then panicked and hid her body in the shed. The Massachusetts medical examiner's office was performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death and whether Nilan had been sexually assaulted. Police said Spinney, who plays Oscar the Grouch in addition to Big Bird, was not a suspect in the crime. (UPI)
